Message from Our President & Founder
After two decades of hard work and perseverance to showcase our pride in our community, the Miss Asian America Pageant is now the longest running and one of the most successful events in the Asian American community.
While there have been many changes in the past 20 years, whether it may be the theme of the event, the venue, or the new contestants we present every year, the heart of the pageant remains the same. We strive to improve our production year after year. We continue our goal of providing opportunities and a platform for young Asian American women. And since day one, the Miss Asian America Pageant has been produced by a family of amazingly talented volunteers who work with passion and creativity.
For our volunteers and staff, we know you have worked selflessly with wholehearted commitment and teamwork. You are our strength and foundation. Thanks to your efforts, the Miss Asian America Pageant has become what it is today. Our 20-year milestone only marks tile next phase for us to take on greater opportunities to learn how we can do better. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.”
As we begin a new decade in the history of our pageant, we cannot help but to be eternally grateful for the blessings, goodwill and charity that have been produced by the Miss Asian America Pageant. Recognizing fully that this event would not exist without the continual support of our corporate sponsors, participation by hundreds of contestants, and generous individuals like you, we wish to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation from the bottom of our hearts.
On behalf of the Miss Asian America Pageant, we wish to extend a special welcome to our former queers and title-holders in attendance – we are very proud of your accomplishments. And to our 2004-2005 Queen and court:
- Buachompoo “Sai” Varee, Miss Asian America
- Kim Choy, First Princess & Miss Asian California
- Jennifer Lee, Miss Asian San Francisco
- Annie Tang, Second Princess
- Virginia Nguyen, Third Princess & Miss Community Service
- Mariejoy Mendoza, Miss Talent & Miss Scholastic Achievement
- Kimberly Arnaldo, Miss Congeniality
- Elizabeth Dinh, Click2Asia People’s Choice
Thank you for being a part of our legacy and for carrying your titles with honor, grace and beauty.
It is not easy to transform a passion into reality. Thank you for your continual support and we hope you will enjoy our celebration of 20 years of beauty, elegance, culture and talent of our Asian American community.
