It seems like just yesterday when I was crowned Miss Asian America. From that night on, it has been a year of growth, accomplishments, obstacles, and cherished moments.
It has been a true honor to be given the opportunity to represent the Asian American community and make a difference. I feel a deep sense of pride to have been a role model, a goodwill ambassador, and a leader in the Asian American community. There are not enough words to describe the immense amount of gratitude that I feel to have been given this amazing opportunity to give back to my community.
As a Miss Asian America, I have been given many opportunities to represent Asian Americans at diverse cultural festivities, holiday parades, fashion shows, and community. I met many prominent figures and leaders in our great land but most importantly, I was able to work hard and fundraise for numerous charity events that help benefit those in our community.
Miss Asian America Pageant will always hold a very special place in my heart. This pageant has helped me grow as an individual and has helped train me in my dream of becoming a performing artist and actress. Participating in Miss Asian America has also taught me that it is not winning that is the most important, but it is all the experiences that one gains and the people who you meet that matter the most. All the staff members, volunteers, escorts, and contestants that I have met in the process have given me so much wisdom, kindness, and support. I know that we will be life-long friends. We really are one big loving family—the Miss Asian America family.
To Rose—thank you for being such a great Asian American role model and leader in our community, and for all the wisdom, patience, understanding, and support you have given me throughout the year; to Janice—thank you for the never-ending advice and help that you so graciously offer to every member of the MAA family; to Mommy Penny—thank you for the continuous love, kindness, and helping hand that you never hesitate to offer to us; to Vince, Jeff, Thomas, Will, Garin, Denise, and Steph—thanks for all the hard work and dedication that you guys have put into this pageant every single year; to all the
people who have sponsored me in my pursuit of my endeavors—thank you so much for your gracious help, I would not be able to do any of it without you; to all the escorts and volunteers—thank you all so much for all the care and fun times that you have given us throughout the entire process of the pageant; and to the wonderful ladies who I have met in the Miss Asian America pageant—I cannot say how grateful and blessed I feel to have met you all, you are all beautiful, talented, and wise and I am sure you will go very long distances in the future. Last but not least, I would like to give a big sincere thanks to my family and friends for their unconditional love and support throughout my entire pursuit of all my endeavors in life. I would not have become the woman that I am now if it were not for your continuous love, encouragement, support, and wisdom.
Thank you all so much.
