Dr. Amanda Y. Cheng, DMD


Dr. Amanda Y. Cheng, an orthodontist at Image Orthodontics in the San Francisco Bay Area, obtained her Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed her specialty training in Orthodontics and Craniofacial Orthopedics at the University of Minnesota. With her background in fine arts and portraiture, Dr. Cheng enjoys creating beautiful smiles that are in harmony with the unique and specific facial features of each and every one of her patients at Image Orthodontics. Dr. Cheng has done many years of research on oral and dental health and is also passionate about global health. Dr. Cheng has worked with the Pediatric AIDS Treatment Support (PATS) Project to provide dental care in Anhui China for HIV positive children and has presented her research findings across the globe from Barcelona to Beijing.

Dr. Harrison Dillon is a successful entrepreneur and a recognized pioneer and thought leader in renewable energy. Dillon developed the idea of creating oil from algae during his PhD in human genetics at the University of Utah. He is a co-founder of Solazyme (NASDAQ: SZYM), a silicon valley-based biotechnology company that manufactures designer, renewable oil for chemicals, fuels, foods and personal care markets. Dr. Dillon has worked in the area of biotechnology as a patent attorney, scientist and company builder for over 20 years. Dr. Dillon serves as an adviser to a number of start-ups and venture capital firms. He is on the Board of Directors of Full Circle Fund, a San Francisco-based engaged philanthropy organization. He encourages students to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations, calling starting a company a “hell of a fun ride!” His interests outside of professional life include international travel, surfing and painting. Dr. Dillon lives in San Francisco.

Jane’s diversified TV credits include 24, The Cape, Rizzoli & Isles, Reno911, Bones, and guest- starring in FOX’s latest drama “Gang Related” as Korean mob boss Su-Jin. Her films include ‘’Street Warrior’’, ‘’Quarantine’’, and ‘’Bring It On.” She will star as Raven in the film ‘’Scream at the Devil,’’ Tess in “Boone: the Bounty Hunter” and Mina in “Heartbreak” which is close to her heart as it is inspired by real events. Jane volunteers to serve the voiceless and oppressed worldwide and has earned a Presidential honor as a former Miss Asian America for her charitable community activism. Her non-fiction Rocky the Rescue, on Amazon gives 90% of proceeds to animal rescue and other charities. She feels privileged to join the MAG family again to participate in an esteemed event that has nurtured the creative souls of many community-minded young men and lovely woman. Sima Patel’s life story is a lesson in hard work and the fulfillment of the “American Dream”. Born in Surat, India, Sima moved to the US in 1979. She began working in the lodging industry, developing a deep passion for the hospitality industry and went to develop other properties in California. They currently own a well-respected hotel company in Oakland. Through her close ties with government staff, she has secured funding for the Oakland Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and has served on the Board of Director for five years and currently serves as President. Sima made history by being the first Indian woman in the country to chair a state lodging association when she became the Chairperson of the California Lodging Industry Association (CLIA) in 2004. Sima’s interests as an Indian woman, business person and community leader continue to expand as she gains momentum in her career as hospitality professional.

Michael Le Minh Hai is a co-founder of Robert Mullins International (RMI). In the past his greatest desire was to be reunited with his family in the United States. It was at this point that he met Robert Mullins who helped him reconnect with his family. This inspired him to continue the mission and for more than a quarter century, RMI is recognized as the leading, most reliable, most successful, most honest of immigration service providers. He is an active member of Board of Directors of Hue Friendship Association, a San Jose, California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping students find their passions and fulfill their dreams.

George Hawawini is the president and executive chef of Mangiare Catering, LLC. Having graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Finance degree, he quickly realized that food and beverage is his passion. He pioneered the development of Mangiare and has been responsible for designing, building and operating multiple units ranging from Bistro operations to a 210 room hotel. His achievements were soon recognized and George was awarded small business of the year in 2011 for district 19 in San Mateo County. Furthermore, he has served as vice president of the Chamber of commerce and Vice Chair of the Planning commission for the city of Brisbane. George’s past and present clientele include former SF Mayor Mr. Gavin Newsom, NFL Star Mr. Charles Woodson, the Junior League of San Francisco along with corporate clients such as Genentech, walmart.com, monster cable and E2k Entertainment just to name a few.

Brent Carey is Afternoon host at 96.5 KOIT Radio in San Francisco. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University and began his radio career at age 14 in his hometown of Gaylord Michigan. Brent’s on-air career includes WDRQ, WDVD, and WMGC in Detroit before joing KOIT in 2014. He also hosts “Today’s World,” a weekly program featuring interviews with community leaders and organizations making a difference in the Bay Area. During his time in the Detroit area, Brent mentored the next generation of broadcasters as Director of Career Services at Specs Howard School of Media Arts. Brent also is the Founder and CEO of Empower Radio, an online radio network focused on personal development and empowerment. The growing network recently celebrated it’s 5th anniversary with an audience spanning 86 countries and over 1 million listeners worldwide.
